Summer Study

Can’t make it overseas this year? Or do you have a desire to learn about the ancient and classical world but don’t want to get your hands dirty? Or maybe learn Latin in Rome? The archaeology and education programs listed here might be the opportunity you’re looking for. There are simulated Israeli digs just for kids, archaeological excavations right in our own backyard led by the National Park Service, and guided tours and classroom learning on Rome and Greece led by some of the country’s leading professors. There’s even a service that lets you dig for just a day.

So if you want to get more experience or knowledge before you go on your dig of choice as a volunteer, here are some places to cut your teeth.
