Each January/February issue of BAR includes a "Volunteers' Digs Guide," which presents nearly half a million readers with a comprehensive listing of dig opportunities in the Bible Lands and the Mediterranean basin. We offer a detailed description of each site plus a "Digs at a Glance" chart that summarizes the essential information about each dig, providing prospective volunteers with all they need to know in order to sign up!
The deadline for inclusion in the January/February 2008 issue of Biblical Archaeology Review is September 28, 2007.
Although the deadline for inclusion in January/February 2008 BAR has passed, you may submit your dig for inclusion on www.findadig.com at any time.
Please fill out the on-line form, even if you do not yet have all the information for the next season. We can fill in gaps later, but we cannot include your dig if we do not receive some indication of interest from you before the deadline. You can best help us get the word about your dig out to prospective volunteers, however, by providing us with the most up-to-date information about your dig as soon as possible.
You can also help us by sending us color slides, prints or high-resolution (300 dpi) electronic images of your dig. We prefer candid shots of volunteers excavating and interacting and we like to show people's faces and reactions to their work. Please include brief captions and credit information for each image that you submit. We will return all images we receive.
We also look for high-quality images of unique finds, and sometimes run a "Prize Find" sidebar that discusses a particular artifact in detail. If you think you have a "Prize Find" candidate, send us a picture and tell us why it is special!
or e-mail electronic images to BAS@bib-arch.org.
Please note: Only dig directors are to complete this form.
