July 27-29

It was a fabulous weekend.  On Friday I did a lot better at the dig because I was drinking more water.  Shira was on me all day reminding me to “DRINK!”  It definitely helped but the entire morning was spent cleaning for the pictures on Thursday.  Someone rents a balloon and they take aerial photos of the site. 

After a quick shower I headed south to the Dead Sea.  I stayed at the Kibbutz En Gedi.  This Kibbutz was more like a resort than kibbutz Revadim!  The entire place is a botanical garden and they have great food!  On Saturday I spent the entire day at the En Gedi/Dead Sea spa.  I soaked in the mineral pool, floated in the Dead Sea, covered myself in mud, had a Swedish massage, and relaxed in the pool.  On Sunday I got up early and went to Masada, the David Waterfall and Qumran. 

Tomorrow I hope to write about all the finds different areas have had this season.
