Michael Cosmopoulos

Michael Cosmopoulos directs the Iklaina Archaeological Project and has spent more than 12 years on excavations. He is also the director of the Eleusis Archaeological Project and the Oropos Survey Project. Dr. Cosmopoulos is the Hellenic Government-Karakas Foundation Professor of Greek Studies and Professor of Archaeology at the University of Missouri at St. Louis. He has received several awards for teaching, including the Olive Beatrice Stanton Award for Excellence in Teaching (1999) and the Archaeological Institute of American Award for Excellence in Teaching (2003). He most recently published The Parthenon and Its Sculptures (Cambridge Univ. Press, 2005).
